Mary will be teaching a workshop at the Taos Wool Festival on Friday, October 6th, 2017, in Taos, New Mexico.
Rug Hooking with Wool (And Other) Yarn will introduce you to all the skills necessary to make yourself a beautiful rug or wall hanging from yarn that you may already have in your stash! Rug hooking is an art that is uniquely American and dates back at least to the 1700’s. Instead of rug hooking with fabric strips (which requires a certain type of wool and a cutter), learn to rug hook with YARN! Your class project will be a rectangular mat that can hang on the wall or be used as a hot pad. Learn different hooking techniques to make your mat interesting or downright wild and and crazy! It’s another fun way to play with yarn!
You can find out more about the class here.
